Today's technology has enabled executives and managers to reach their
customers (internal and external) quickly in various manners e.g. via
cellphones, email, internet chat, short message service etc. However,
managers and executives still need to write formal letters and reports
to colleagues and clients, to get their message across and to get things
done. This course helps managers and executives to write simple and concise
business correspondence to achieve the desired result, and in less time.
The fast-paced business life, combined with state-of-the-art technology,
has caused managers and executives to become impersonal in communicating
their thoughts. Writers often fail to consider the impact of their writing
on the readers, giving their message in a curt and abrupt manner.
This course aims to help managers and executives to write simple and
concise business correspondence to achieve the desired result, and in
less time. Participants begin by understanding why it is crucial to write
in a positive manner and learn to write selected business correspondence
using a systematic 5-step approach.
Templates for common business correspondence will be provided to enable
participants to write with greater ease on their return from this course.
Participants will also work in groups to practice writing selected business
correspondence during the course.
